Dear Friends,

We hope that you are safe and well.

This is our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Today's Meditation is the Wedding Vows that we wrote together and said to each other 35 years ago today. They are beautifully captured in the calligraphy drawn and painted by my sister Mary. On our wedding day we also sang a song to all the good people who have touched our lives and we sing it to you today:

"This is a song for all the good people, All the Good people who've touched up our lives. This is a song for all the good people. People we're thanking our stars for tonight."

Thank you for touching our lives with your love and care!!!

We invite you to join us as we commit ourselves to working tirelessly to end systemic and structural racism in our society, in the church, in healthcare, in the workplace--wherever it shows up so that everyone may come to have more abundant life. May this meditation nourish our contemplative-active hearts and sustain all of us in action.

In the spirit of our philosophy of co-creating community and our awareness that the Spirit speaks through each of us, we invite you to share your meditations with us as well. We truly believe that it is God's economy of abundance: when we share our blessings, our thoughts, our feelings, we are all made richer.

We hope and pray that you find peace, healing, hope and the infusion of joy in your life!

With our love and care,

Jean and Ron

MEDITATION 787: Our Wedding Vows to each other 35 years ago today:

"My heart leaps with joy at the thought of our being married to one another! I promise to be a faithful life companion to you in heart, in body and in spirit. One who affirms, respects and cherishes you all the days of my life. I will be present to you in love: in times of joy, in times of struggle and in times of sorrow. Trusting in your love for me, I will seek healing forgiveness from you when I have hurt you and grant healing forgiveness to you when you have hurt me. From my love for you, I promise to be both vulnerable and risk taking in our relationship, as well as to call you to deeper growth and vulnerability with me. I promise to continue to grow in my love for our God, to share with you my walk in faith, and to nourish you in faith so that together we can grow closer to our God. I commit myself to reaching out with you to bring God's love to others and to seeking with you creative ways of sharing the fruits of our love to enhance the lives of God's People. All this I promise in the name of the Living God, whose faithful eternal love is the model and strength of our own."
